Project MYTHOPOL is looking to hire a part-time assistant for six months from January 2022, with a possibility of further extension.
The position will be paid by the hour and amount to approximately 15 hours per month.
If you are considering pursuing an academic career, this position will provide you with invaluable insights into the research process and the chance to work with a group of young and engaged scholars.
Tasks and responsibilities
The research assistant will be expected to help our researchers out with academic as well as administrative tasks.
The main responsibilites will be to manage the project website and social media accounts and participate in regular team meetings.
In addition, the research assistant will conduct proof reading, reference work and indexing of academic texts. This will be a useful experience for those about to write or writing a dissertation.
Additional tasks include providing practical assistance related to project conferences and guest researcher visits, such as booking rooms, flights, conference venues etc.
Skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and Humanities (or other equivalent)
- English proficiency (a good command of Norwegian is a plus, but not a requirement)
- Overall digital and social media proficiency (experience with WordPress)
- Sound academic skills and understanding of the academic “tone of voice”
- Efficient and well organized
- Good communication skills
Terms and conditions
The successful candidate will be employed by and based at MF Norwegian School of Theology, Religion and Society in Oslo. Candidates must be prepared to act as a versatile and dedicated member of the MYTHOPOL project team, led by Moumita Sen. The research fellow is therefore expected to be present at MF and to participate in the collaborative activities of the project.
